Brick and stone have been the preferred building medium for well over 100 years in Alabama.  Principally because they are in abundance and last, seemingly, forever.

The house is beautiful with its grand sweeping porch, and did you notice the pillars by the doorway were marble? The longer I look the more I wish I could see inside…

Then I see the door is smiling a welcome, or is it mirth?  Aha, now I get the joke!  No matter how lovely and grand the porch may look,  just imagine trying to decorate or add window treatments in the two rooms with curved walls and windows!

  1. I want to live there! Or at least attend a few dinner parties there…
